Actor headshots in Ottawa
I think actors kind of invented the headshot! After actor headshots came model headshots. Then finally the ones we see everywhere in corporate headshots.
There are more actors in Ottawa than we know. I got a call last week. The actor had started to work with an agent. He sent photos to the agent that his daughter took. He thought he was good. The first thing the agent said was ‘you’re going to need a PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOT.
The headshot is the single most important marketing tool an actor has. It’s amazing how many people don’t bother with this little detail!
We need to take your headshot seriously. When that 8×10 is in front of the casting director or when the jpeg pops up on his or her computer you want it to say “YES”. Bring that person in. Right?
Your headshot is your calling card. A nice color 8×10 of your face. It will be sent out or emailed to casting directors and agents, who see hundreds of every day. If your headshot is bad, you look bad. It’s not good.
You want to be seen as a pro, not an amateur, so the way you present yourself in your picture is everything. If you want people to take you seriously, you need a killer headshot. Not an iPhone pic, not a Facebook photo.
To stand out today you should find someone who you can work with who can produce a headshot that shows YOU. A pro-headshot will allow you to compete with other actors evenly.
