Should I wear my glasses for my Headshot session?
If you’re wondering should I wear my glasses for my Headshot session the answer is probably yes but only if your headshot photographer knows what they’re doing!
As someone who wears them all the time I say If glasses are part of your brand then yeah… you can’t go without them. People expect to see you how you normally look.
But your Headshot photographer needs to pay close attention to this detail. If he or she is not used to it they might miss it. You’ll be unhappy with your headshots.
Some of the best photographers out there have a tough time with glass glare. Sometimes they discover the glare after the client has left their studio. They end up spending hours and hours in Photoshop trying to remove the glare. Even then the eyeglass glare isn’t truly gone. It’s just less noticeable.
Experienced Headshot photographers know about eye-glass glare. The fix is the difference between a professional headshot photographer and… well… a less pro!. If you’re the client you won’t know about this until you see your images. You should be able to expect your Headshot photographer to be a pro and to know the fix. If you’re concerned about it in advance be sure to ask your photographer what their solution is for eye-glass glare.
When I photograph someone with glasses my complete set-up changes from the very start. It is the very first thing I notice. That’s because Headshot Photography is the only thing I do.
