Headshot on a white background
I get this call a lot.
“I need a headshot on a white background because the company I just joined needs to add me to the website. How quickly can you do it?”
I like this because the white background is my marquis look. I love it for a bunch of reasons.
- White makes everyone look glamorous. It shows everything evenly and nice and bright. We all look pretty darn good on white.
- The people who manage the website love it because nine times out of ten the website background is white. So the image blends in nicely with what’s already there. If we shoot you on grey there is always the chance that my grey is not some other photographer’s grey. Grey makes everyone look nice and corporate but it’s hard to match.
- Speaking of matching. When new employees join your business it’s easy to match them as well. See point two above.
- Using colors like black or grey for a background, although I love them, also adds to the drama in the photograph. Sometimes we want to just emphasize your face. We don’t always want to create drama in your headshot from anything but your eyes. Grey gives us a feeling. So do other colours.
I think Kris here did a great job and I dear say will have the best headshot on the company website. Ps.. I didn’t do the headshots on this page. Just the one at the top of this post. 🙂
