You might think that Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson wouldn’t need a professional Headshot. Surely he has enough pictures of himself?
A quick Google search for images of him and you’ll find for sure there are a lot of photos of the Mayor. BUT there are only a couple that could qualify as portrait Headshots. Most are shots of him in action or while opening a new business here in Ottawa. Unfortunately the formal images are a little older and as we all know everyone needs a good current headshot!!

I had the opportunity to photograph Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson’s headshot a few weeks ago.
The Mayor’s Executive Assistant was a real pro. He had me set up in the Mayor’s office awaiting him to finish another meeting to maximize his time. Like all busy people I was given only a few minutes!
Having your headshot taken can be uncomfortable with the wrong photographer. This, for even for a seasoned politician. In the end he thought it wasn’t so bad. Even said so. He sent me a nice letter later, the old fashioned way, thanking me for printed photographs. He said they were ‘impressive’!
I think I’ve done my job when someone can say that about a photo of themselves. Nailed it! Thanks Jim Watson.
